Minutes -- Regular Meeting – October 19, 2016
7:30 PM Chairman Tom Daly opened the meeting in Town Hall with John Mirick, Richard Bisk and Rud Mason along with alternate Ann Neuburg. Tom Sullivan was absent.
Members signed Special Permit for Verizon co-location and revised site plan for Guterman at 194 Worcester Road as both were previously approved. Board voted all in favor to approve minutes from Oct. 5.
Discussion continued on signage regulations--John M. previously distributed copies of proposed signage bylaws and reported on his foray around town getting measurements. Consensus is that most businesses in town have acceptable styles/sizes, so they can provide template for specs. Tom D. showed photos on laptop and printed thumbnails of signs around town as well. Much discussion about how signs are scattered at Town Line Garage and Kwik Stop.
Still considering sign area in relation to wall surface; attached vs. free-standing, issue of multiple businesses in one location with individual names on freestanding sign at property entrance, plus flush-mount signs at each business and/or a hanging sign.
John M. keeps updating the working draft and suggested collecting outside opinions, from business owners and the building inspector. He also distributed a final version of the B & B ‘punch list’ for applicants.
The next quarterly meeting of CMRPC is Thursday, Nov. 10.
Board agreed to cancel the next meeting on Nov. 2 so next regular meeting will be Nov. 16. Will schedule a single December meeting so as to avoid any conflict with other town events.
